Christmas in Idaho 2012

Tis the season for wonderful family time. That is what we got for sure. We had a few fond moments with our family of Three. So while we were out shopping for this major event we stumbled upon a Santa at TJmax that was doing photos and just spreading the holiday cheer. So we took advantage of the moment and tried out the whole ordeal. I was so surprised that Brooklyn did so well with "Santa's lap". She didn't fuss or cry at all. She did try to pull his beard a few times, but all in all enjoyed him telling her how beautiful and sweet she was. This Santa only had known her a few seconds and she had him wrapped around her finger.

Say Cheese with Santa!!

Slightly curious about that white fluffy beard....
So after that first Santa encounter we thought she would be ok with any other Santa she might see the rest of the season.... not really. She sort of freaked out at our ward Christmas dinner. She was all smiles until she was seated on his lap. She began puckering up her little lips and the crocodile tears began to flow. So those pictures are not all that wonderful and cheery like the previous time. But we can at least say we tried.

I had to sit by her, but she was ready to be done... like now!

This year we had our own little Christmas at our home. Brooklyn woke us up around 5am on Sunday so we decided to open our "Santa gifts". It was fun to see how our little one reacted to everything. She was pretty mellow. But I would have been too at 5 in the morning. Sadly I was not awake either enough to get the camera for this moment.

So we also had a few of Doug's family members over for dinner in December. His parents and Jon and Diana came over to visit. While they were here we decided to open up some of the presents they sent our little family. It was kinda fun to see how little bug reacted to it. Surprisingly she didn't want to tear into the paper and rip it to shreds. I was hoping she would be all over that, but instead she poked it a few times with her fingers and just stared at it. Once we started to the presents she was a little more lively. It was fun to see what we got from the family. After we finished Grandma Yearsley and Brooklyn began to play with her toys. That was hilarious. Brooklyn had missed most of her naps that day so she was slightly off anyways, but then she got the giggles and it took off from there.

Getting started on the presents!

Check out my cool toy!!

Yes, I was helping out in the whole "destroy the wrapping paper".

Yup, we are the lamest parents ever... we got her loads of pjs instead of amazing toys!

The family of three with our first Family Christmas 2012!
We hope all is great in your neck of the woods!
