2012 Thanksgiving fun!

Hello everyone,
So this year has flown by way to quickly. It feels like I am constantly rushing around and hardly making any progress.... but I have a smile on my face while I am doing it. So that must mean I am ok. So this year we didn't get to spend Thanksgiving with Doug's side of the family because he got really sick and we didn't feel like spreading the love. So we hunkered down at our little house and vegged out. This was a first for our little family of three to just spend a holiday together at home. Doug spent a lot of time curled up on the couch and little bug and I tried to make the "big" feast...
There was everything: Mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, salad, rotisserie chicken, and really yummy rolls!
There of course were three pies: apple, pumpkin and spiced apple.

Then the fun really began. Brooklyn and I searched through all the newspaper advertisements and tried to decide if it was worth the hassle to rush out that night to do "Black Friday". Of course Doug said he wouldn't be going at all. So I enlisted the help of my friend Kelly Midbust for support. We ended up only going to Walmart and Old Navy. I am proud to say that I only spent a Grand Total of $ 43.00 that night and was in my bed by 2 am the next day. So it was fun but not a totally stress at all. I got what we needed and was out of all that chaos before it really began.

So all in all our thanksgiving was very low key and easy going. We enjoyed it but still felt back that we missed out on family time. Hopefully next year we aren't so sick and can spend time with family. Well I hope all is great in your neck of the woods!
