So I wanted to help you be more educated on something that you may not know much about due to not being given the opportunity. I know that I sure didn't know much about World Down Syndrome Day. (which is today March 21).
I would like to challenge you to be more educated about it and try to learn something new that could help those around you.
Here are some great places to check out information at the National Down Syndrome Society: http://ndss.org/index.php
March 21st was chosen specifically for the number 21 and 3. In most Down Syndrome people, there is an extra copy of chromosome 21 (down syndrome is called Trisomy 21 because there is three copies of this chromosome instead of 2), which changes the body's and the brain's development.
* I have a beautiful little cousin who was born with this condition. She is such a wonderful baby and so dang cute!! I know that her parents are truly blessed to have such a wonderful angel in their family. Thanks Morgan and James for helping us learn more about life!
