Christmas of 2009

So I know I have been a very big slacker when it comes to posting. So here is what the yearsleys did for the holiday season. This year we decided to make chocolates. It was really entertaining to see that I was not the real cook in the house. I bet none of you knew that my husband is the master cook in the house... We try to keep it hush, hush.

Anyways so Doug showed me how to melt the chocolate with out burning it. We covered pretzels, oreos, Ritz, and anything that we could get our hands on. It was a really fun evening spent being creative. Our key ingredient to making sure everything was covered in chocolate evenly was...chopsticks. Yes, chopsticks are what we used to dip items with. It works wonderfully, until my fingers started to cramp up due to those muscles never being used. But I would highly recommend it.

It took us a while to get all the food covered properly and then we ate a few of course to make sure we didn't poison our friends who got the chocolate covered yummies.

Ok then we went to my husband's side to celebrate Christmas this year. We lucked out with wonderful roads most of the way. Once we got there I am surprised to say we played the Wii the entire time. Yeup my husband became a video game junkie. I too must admit that I got way competitive when Jon, Diana, Doug and I played "Mario brothers." We stayed up until 2-5 in the morning playing because we all wanted to conqure the entire game. We got so close (only one more world to conquer). Towards the end of the game we started saying funny things like " Don't bubble yet", "Use your fire breath to save us!", "Fine I will just bubble then!!".

But then a whole new enjoyment came after Christmas. My sister-in-law (Janae) brought "Just Dance". Wow that is another wii game everyone should try. So instead of Mario until 3 in the morning it was "Just dance". This game is where you have to copy the actions the person is doing to the music. By the time you are done with the song you are sweating bullets and laughing so hard you can't breath.

Me busting a move

This is some of the entertainment we saw once we started playing "Just dance". I will try to down load the guys playing and then just the girls. It may have to be in the next post.
