Doug's packing trip

Hey everyone, So you may think that this blog is becoming all about Doug and his adventures... well you are right since that is all that seems to be happening in our neck of the woods. Doug got asked by a guy he works with to head up to Big Horn Crags in Frank Church wilderness. It is far up north past Challis, ID. I have no idea where that is or how to really get there. But anyways he was asked to pack in his buddy and all his gear for a big horn sheep hunt two weeks later. Doug of course could not pass that up. So he got his horse and my two horses ready to pack up all the gear.

Poor Scout got stuck hauling all the gear. Hank (black horse) got to pack in Doug. My horse Sandy packed in Doug's friend Tyson.

This is all the gear they packed in to the lake. You can see the beautiful lake right behind all the stuff.

Here is Doug on Hank and little Scout heading back down after they had hid all the gear up in a tree. So little Scout had so little to pack down the mountain then.

.

So all went well until they got the horses down from the trail and started to head back home. Yeup they ended up with three flat tires and a truck that kept dying on them. So Doug had left for this trip on a Friday morning and was due back Saturday evening. Well the rules are that if Doug didn't show up 2 hours after his time I would pack up stuff and head his way to find him. (even though I had no idea where that was). Well just before I was ready to head out I got a phone call from Tyson saying he had left Doug back in the wilderness and he was in Challis with out him. AHHH! But he said once he got his truck fixed he would go back and get him. (not a very comforting thing to say to a very paranoid wife!) But I calmed down and said a prayer and sure enough Tyson did go back around midnight and pick Doug and his horses up and take him to Challis, ID. So I did finally see my husband and our horses Sunday late evening. UGH!

But Doug said he had a blast and I told him never again cus I was not going to go through that experience again. But other than that all is great in our neck of the woods. Tootles.
