This year we celebrated our Easter on the Saturday before. Our Yearsley Grandparents come up to visit that weekend. Doug and Grandpa and Trey went sturgeon fishing while Brooklyn, Grandma and I went Easter egg hunting.
Round one in the Gooding Park
Brooklyn already for her first Easter Egg hunt,
we got there half and hour early because I heard it was pretty crazy. They had it all sectioned off for each age group. Brooklyn was in the 0-3 years group.
Once she saw those eggs behind the rope she was all excited about it,
Since we were slightly early we walked around the area scoping it out and just trying to keep her entertained so she wouldn't fall apart.
Once the whistle blew she was off grabbing eggs... like a herd of turtles... She was just so giggly and happy to find eggs that she was not much of a pushy or aggressive egg hunter. which was fine by me. She filled her bucket and the hunt was over in literally a minute. There were so many little kids and so it was done quick.
The pure joy on her face for basket full of eggs.
Then we went to McDonald's for breakfast. On our way we stopped and realized that the Valley Co-Op connected to McDonald's was having a Egg hunt too. So why not jump on that also.
So we walked over to the 0-3 year section and began our wait again. There were only a handful of kids so I was really excited since they put prizes in the eggs ( slips of paper giving away rabbits, chickens, toys from the co-op). So we waited and while we waited there were two people in the Hambergerler, and the purple dude from McDonald's walking around saying hi to the kids.
Grandma and Bug seemed ok at first....
Then the purple dude got way to close for Brooklyn and she freaked out. Not so happy about a purple dude trying to give her a hug.
Finally they blew the whistle and it was worse then the last place. The parents were grabbing eggs too. I had to lift Brooklyn up twice so she wouldn't get pushed over by the parents rushing for eggs. CRAZY!!!
Brooklyn checking out her loot with Grandma.
We opened all the eggs to see if we won any prizes. We had around 8 eggs and every single one of them had a free small fry from McDonald's in them. So we will be eating lots of small fries for a long long time. haha
So after that mad rush we finally went in to get some breakfast and while we were there some one told us about the Wendell Easter egg hunt in their park. My mother in law had caught the Hunting itch and she convinced me and my friend to grab out kiddos and head that way. I am sad to say that I was so focused on Brooklyn that I have no pictures of this egg hunt.
So when we got there we had five minutes until the hunt. Much smarter because Brooklyn only had two minutes to melt down before we actually got to go hunt for eggs. Wendell decide to put real boiled eggs out all over the baseball field for the 0-3 years of age. There were probably only 10 fake eggs that had slips of paper telling you where to go get your prize. Brooklyn loved the real eggs and filled her bucket up to the brim with them. It was so fun to she her pick them up and say "mommy dis is a real egg!"
The crazy thing is that she loves hard boiled eggs and so we started to peel them and eat them. We sat down with my friends kids and enjoyed the moment. One of her little girls was peeling her egg and opened it up to the center were the yoke was cooked. She pointed at the center and said that is where the "Bock, Bock" is. So she made the sound of the chicken. Not more then two days later Brooklyn did the same thing while eating her boiled egg. She pointed at the bock bock part of the egg.
On Sunday after our nap we got up and decided to have a small egg hunt in our backyard. This is how Brooklyn dressed for the hunt. She seriously has her own idea of fashion. She also got that camping chair from the Easter Bunny.
So excited to head out to the barn and find fake eggs.
Say cheese!! These two are my complete world. I love how tom-boy this little girl is. She makes me laugh constantly with her new found adventures.
Hope your Easter was magical and memorable.
Hope all is great in your neck of the woods!
