Hello my dear friends who read this blog..... So these last few day have been the days from heck. Yes, I am really serious. I think some one in our neighborhood has cursed us or something because everything has gone wrong. Here is the story line. On Wednesday I was prepping our house to move (aka packing up all that I could before Doug got home). When I started to hear funny noises coming from the kitchen sink. I walk over there to realize it is over flowing with nasty yucky water. I ran down stairs and hurried and turned off the washer that was running. Sure enough it stopped the nasty flow. I quickly call my handy dandy husband to help me brain storm what to do. I tried all the tricks he told me to do, but nothing worked. So I called him back and he told me to come pick him up at work. So we arrive home and he rolls up his sleeves and begins to work on the sink. Mean while the house looks like a tornado come through it because now I am only 1/3 of the way packed.
Then Doug goes out to the garage to go find some tools .... seconds later he comes barreling into the house yelling for me to come help him. We run out there to find half our garage (our side) is flooded and getting deeper. We quickly begin to shovel out the water and get things dried up. Problem is that the garage floor settled years ago below the level of the road. Funny thing since it has been so warm the snow has melted and it has been raining , so it went running into the garage. So my smart husband runs and buys us some sand bags. I felt like we were dealing with a river. But when all was said and done we sand bagged our garage door and it worked. We then had to make sure the basement didn't flood and so we had to dig trenches to pull the water away from the house.
Then Doug fixed our plugged drain in the kitchen. Phew... right? NO
Shortly after helping Doug clean up the mess we made in the kitchen I caught a whiff of the nasty sink smell and ended up throwing up for the next few hours. It was yucky. I over came that episode Thursday afternoon. Then Doug called me on Thursday morning telling me he has come down with the flu and feels sick. ...... I don't dare ask what else could go wrong. SO I won't even think it. Hope all is great in your neck of the woods.
