I love America

This day a few years ago was very devastating. (9-11) will always be in our country's history books. It was sad what happened to our nation, but I am also very grateful for the unity that it gave us. I am proud to say that I am an American. There are thousands of people who give their lives for our nation so that we can be safe and FREE!

So I wanted to give a shout out to all those wonderful people who risk their lives every day so that I can live here in America "Freely". Now I don't have any people in my family who are in the navy, coast guard, army, or air force. But My husband and I do have many friends who serve our country daily. We are so grateful to know Dave Thomander and his lovely family. Dave graduated with Doug in the Engineer department, but he also was in the Air force academy too. We found out this year Dave is being flown over to Afghanistan to protect our Country. We love him and wish him well. He will be well protected with our Heavenly Father watching over him. We send our love and blessings to his wife (Kathy), their beautiful daughter (Kayla) and their soon to be baby. Thank You Dave for being there for us!!

We also want to give a shout out to another wonderful couple... The Bookers. Chris graduated a semester a head of us from Law-School and he also serves our Country. He and his beautiful wife (Bryn) plus their new addition (Braddock) are over seas right now too. They are stationed in Japan. We are so grateful for you service to this country too. We wish you well and send our prayers out to you.

Thanks you to all those soldiers who sacrifice their time and lives for our nation. We appreciate you dearly. Thank you!!!

I couldn't agree more. We are truly blessed to have the freedoms that we have, and there are so many selfless people that we have to thank for those freedoms. Great post Kat.

Kathryn, how thoughtful. Thank you. It has been an amazing experience to be surrounded by all the men and women who serve. Even better are the people who don't take it for granted. You're a good woman.
