Hey everyone I just wanted to shout that I survived a whole week of Girl's camp. Yeah It was fun and tough at the same time. Sadly it rained the whole time we were there and then the day we pack up to come home there is not one stinking cloud in sight. UGH!!!!! But hey we still had a blast. I got loads of crazy pictures of the girls and the five leaders plus a baby. YES, I said baby. One of the leaders has an adorable 8month baby who got to enjoy girls camp with all of us. The girls learned real quick that screaming and yelling at night is a big NO NO. ha ha
So anyways one quick story : On the third day of camp they split the girls up into groups by age and go on hikes. It depends on what year (age group) you are that determines the distance of the hike. My friend Heather (who was the leader with the baby) and I decided to tag along with the third years and go an a some what intense 5 mile hike. HUGE MISTAKE!! We took Jaelynn (the baby) with us on the hike. We agreed to switch off packing the little one. Well we also had a guide who came way ill prepared .... he didn't have a map or a stinking compass... and he didn't even know the area. UGH!!!! so to make a long story short he got us lost on the top of the mountain in a thunder and lightning storm. Thank goodness I had my windbreaker to protect Jaelynn. I ended up packing Jaelynn down the mountain cus Heather ended up leading the rest of the hike back to camp safely. So the moral of this experience would be to not trust a stranger with 16 girls on a mountain and to check the sky before you go on a hike longer than 3 hours.
I loved camping with the girls in our ward. It was a wonderful and spiritual experience. I learned so much about the young women in the ward. They are amazing daughters of God. I just feel bad cus my poor husband will have to break me of the teenager habits I picked up while hanging with teenaged girls all week. haha
Ok SO I don't have the pics up yet. I will put them in later today. Love ya and hope every thing is great in your neck of the woods.

I always loved girls camp when I went as a young woman, but when I got asked to help with it last year I was so dreading it, and luckily Alissa got married at the same time girls camp was supposed to happen so I got out of it. It is way more intense to have a baby on your back then to just walk. Last year we went to arches and went on a six hour hike with one year old Lauren. I was pooped after 45 minutes and made Jeff pack her the rest of the time. HE He.
Yay! You made it! (i.e. there is hope for me after all!) Ours is still 2 weeks away, but I'm so friggin' pumped to go for the whole week! Our camp director is also the secretary in our presidency and she is A-MAZING. I'm so excited to get to know our girls better. Can't wait to see your pictures - and especially of your POODLE-Collie! Hahaha
