Wife Vs. Window

So the other day Doug and I decided to go get our Christmas Tree. Doug informed me that every year when we get our Christmas tree there seems to always be some type of bump in the road. I laughed at him and said "really what do you me?" He then proceeded to tell me all the mishaps we have had every year since we have been married that occurs when we go get our Christmas tree. So I will give you the run down of them:

1st year: Doug and I got stuck in the snow with our truck and then he broke the break-line due to one of the tire chains slipping. That was a very oops moment.

2 Year: We went with our friends to go get a tree. Time got a way with us and we ended up looking for the "perfect" tree in the mountains with snow up to our thighs in the dark. I also fell down a small hill and got stuck in the snow.(but that is a whole other story! ha ha)

3Year: Started out way to late and ended up in the dark again. Then we didn't prep correctly and came with out flashlights. We thought that our tree was great looking until we got it in the light. Ours didn't even hold a candle to Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree. The trunk wasn't big enough to stay up in the stand.

Then we thought we would be a-ok this year, but guess again!!!

Now this year: So Doug and I went to go get our Christmas tree and were in such a hurry that I forgot to grab my set of keys. Now normally that isn't a big problem, except Doug didn't have the keys to the house either. Talk about a pain in the butt-ick-umus! (Doug created that word). So we get our tree and come home and tried all our doors and windows. Man I really don't see how burglars wouldn't get deterred after that. I mean really!!

Anyways I then realized as I was walking back around the house that we still had luck on our side. I had left the bathroom window open a crack!! I hurried over and grabbed our dog house and pulled it up to the side of the house. But I was still too short to reach the window. Doug looked at the window and said yeah right I don't think my leg would even fit through that window. So If you can even picture this:

The Bathroom Window!!

Check out the width of the window compared to my shampoo bottle!
Doug teetering on a dog house then me balancing in his arms. After popping the screen, I told Doug to push me through. Well it would have worked beautifully if I hadn't gone head first in through the window. He shoved and I fell head first into the tub. Yeah I know funny!! But then I realized how interesting it might have looked from the neighbor's house. After recovering from the fall I quickly unlocked our door. Sure enough not less than 10 minutes later a Cop car slowly, and I mean slowly drives by our house like it was inspecting it for a break in. HA HA So yeah that would be our craziest adventure this last week. Stay tuned for the other mishaps of the Yearsley Family
.
Before we decorated the tree

After we decorated with stars and bells

I had to chop a little bit of Stuff to make it fit in the house!
Well we hope all is great in your neck of the woods!

Kathryn this is hilarious. You crack me up! If I didn't know you...I wouldn't have believed it all. I'm super happy you found us! Yeah! I saw some of your brothers at church yesterday and it made me miss your family tons. The ward isn't the same without you guys. But I'm excited to tune into your next adventures! Say hi to your wonderful Mom for me.

That is such a funny story. And people without kids say they have nothing to blog about. They just need to be more adventurous and climb through bathroom windows more often.

That's a really perfectly beautiful tree!! Love your decor too!! But your stories top them all, maybe we should get on it with real trees, our fake tree doesn't have much story behind it!
